Where Art Meets Ocean Advocacy
Sharkapalooza is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit celebration of sharks, art, and ocean conservation — brought to life by a community of creatives, educators, and ocean lovers. What started as a small gathering has evolved into a high-energy, purpose-driven event that uses creativity as a catalyst for real-world shark conservation.
Our Story
Sharkapalooza was founded by Jessica Adanich, the artist and ocean advocate behind Fuzzy Sharks. Through her artwork, Jessica wanted to change the way people see sharks — not as villains, but as vital, beautiful, and often misunderstood creatures. What began with stickers and plush toys grew into an outreach movement designed to raise awareness and create meaningful change through visual storytelling and community action.

In 2022, the first official Sharkapalooza brought that mission to life in person, creating a space where artists, conservationists, and ocean fans could come together to share their love of sharks and the sea.
What We Do
Each Sharkapalooza event features:

Raffles & Fundraising to benefit local marine nonprofits and conservation initiatives

Hands-On Activities for all ages, encouraging learning through art and play
A portion of the proceeds supports real shark conservation efforts, including through our partners and direct initiatives as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Why We Do It
Sharks are a critical part of ocean ecosystems — yet they're often feared, misunderstood, and hunted to dangerous levels. Through art, community events, and accessible education, Sharkapalooza invites people of all ages to rethink what they know, reconnect with the natural world, and take small steps toward big change.
