What is Sharkapalooza?

Sharkapalooza is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, art-driven festival dedicated to shark and ocean conservation. The event brings together artists, conservation organizations, educators, sponsors, and the community to raise awareness and funding through art, education, and engagement.

Is Sharkapalooza a nonprofit?

Who is Sharkapalooza for?

​

Sharkapalooza is for:

  • Artists of all mediums with shark and ocean specific artwork

  • Conservation and environmental organizations

  • Families and community members

  • Shark and ocean advocates

  • Businesses and sponsors who support conservation

  • Volunteers who want to support a meaningful cause

The event is designed to be inclusive and family-friendly.

Who can apply as an artist?

Artists of all experience levels are welcome to apply, provided their work aligns with the event’s theme and mission. More information is available on our Vendor Application page. 

What type of artwork is allowed?​

 

To remain consistent with the mission and theme of the event, all artwork displayed or sold at Sharkapalooza must be shark-related or ocean-related.

Accepted mediums include, but are not limited to:

  • Painting and illustration

  • Sculpture and mixed media

  • Photography

  • Digital art

  • Functional art (as long as it remains on theme)

How do I apply as an artist?

All artists must complete the official Vendor Application available on the website. This applies to all artists, including those who have participated in past Sharkapalooza events, as requirements and agreements have been updated.

Is there an artist fee?​

 

Any applicable artist fees, booth options, and participation details are clearly outlined within the application prior to submission.

Can I sell my artwork at the event?

​

Yes. Approved artists are permitted to sell their artwork during the event, as long as it complies with the theme and event guidelines.

How can my business sponsor Sharkapalooza?​

 

We offer multiple sponsorship opportunities for businesses and organizations that align with our mission. Sponsorships help directly support shark conservation, education, and community programming.

Do sponsors receive booth space?

​

Some sponsorship levels include booth space. Sponsors will be asked during the agreement process if they would like a booth. Booth space is subject to availability and event layout.

What is the Green Policy?​

 

As a conservation-focused nonprofit, Sharkapalooza is committed to minimizing environmental impact. Vendors are required to follow our Green Policy, which emphasizes reducing plastic use and choosing paper or eco-friendly packaging whenever possible. How do I volunteer?

Volunteer opportunities are available through the volunteer application on the website. Volunteer roles may include event setup, artist assistance, education areas, information booths, and general event support.

Do volunteers need to sign an agreement?​

 

Yes. All volunteers must review and sign a volunteer agreement in order to participate.

Can I volunteer if I don’t have event experience?

Absolutely. No prior event experience is required. Volunteers will be placed in roles that best match their interests, availability, and comfort level.

Is Sharkapalooza family-friendly?​

 

Yes. Sharkapalooza is designed for all ages and includes art, educational experiences, and interactive elements suitable for families and children.

Is there an admission fee?

​

Admission to the event is free. Some activities, artwork purchases, or experiences may have additional costs.
